The Krim family is getting even stronger. After it became clear that Ana Gros, Grace Zaadi Deuma and Tamara Horaček will move to Ljubljana next season, another Slovenian player will return to the Tigers. Ana Abina, who is the left back player, has pledged her allegiance to the best Slovenian women’s handball club for two seasons.
On Saturday, 17 February, at around 19:30, it became clear that the Krim Mercator handball players had clinched their place in the EHF Champions League Play-Offs for the fourth season in a row! Less than 24 hours later, they had won the next round of Europe’s most elite club competition. They will be the handball players of CSM Bucuresti from Romania.
The players of Krim Mercator qualified for the EHF Champions League Play-offs. On Saturday in Stožice, they did not allow any surprises and secured their place in the next round of Europe’s most elite club competition with a 32:19 victory over Zaglebie Lubina. At least one more handball spectacle is coming to Ljubljana next month!
Krim Mercator’s players unfortunately suffered their second consecutive defeat against a Scandinavian team. The defeat (29:21) is not fatal, as the last home game in a week’s time will decide the ticket to the play-offs of the EHF Champions League.

Handball club Krim Mercator is proud to announce that it has managed to recruit another outstanding handball powerhouse to its ranks. Tamara Horaček – a Frenchwoman, born in Pozeda, Croatia, will join the team next season as a centre back. She has signed a two-year contract with the club.
An outstanding performance for two very important points. The Krim Mercator players won them in the Hungarian capital, against FTC, whom they beat for the second time this season.
Unfortunately, the Krim Mercator players were not able to overcome the spell of the Aquarama Kristiansand arena once again. Despite a great fight and a game without Barbara Lazović and Jovanka Radičević, the rivals were stronger with the final score 29:23.
The Krim Mercator handball players have fulfilled their first New Year’s resolution: they won their first game in 2024. And in what a way! Jovanka Radičević scored exactly four seconds before the final buzzer sounded. For the final 25:24 victory against Romanian Rapid and two new points.
French player Grace Zaadi Deuna will join Krim Mercator as a centre back next season. The 30-year-old, who is currently still defending the colours of Romania’s CSM Bucuresti, won a gold medal at the last Women’s World Handball Championship – the second gold medal of her career at the World Championships.
Jovanka Radičević. A handball player who we believe needs no introduction. But in short: since last season, the all-time top scorer in the EHF Champions League and a player with a rich sporting career that, despite being 37 years old, still has no end in sight. If we put aside her top achievements for a moment, two words describe her best. Passion and Dedication.
