Krim Mercator’s players extended their winning streak in the 2023/24 season at their home European overture. In front of 1945 loud fans at Arena Stožice, they defeated Team Esbjerg, last year’s participant of the final four tournament. Tamara Mavsar scored a massive eight goals and Jovanka Radičević five for a final score of 33:27.
Krim Mercator’s handball players opened the EHF Champions League with a victory after nine years! In the opening match of their 29th consecutive season in Europe’s most elite club competition, they defeated MKS Zagłębie Lubin from Poland (18:36). The team performance was the most creditable, with four players scoring five goals each.
The handball players of Krim Mercator have discovered their opponents for the group stage of the 2023/24 EHF Champions League. The Tigresses will embark on their journey in the European handball elite for the 29th consecutive season, starting in Group B. Their first challenge awaits them on September 9th or 10th.
Itana Grbić, Tamara Mavsar, Maja Vojnovič, Nina Zulič and Tatjana Brnović, the handball players who will be changing their club before the new season, stopped in Ljubljana before their well-deserved summer break.
Before the official end of the 2022/2023 season, the players of Krim Mercator won the double crown in the domestic competitions. They won both the national championship and the cup competition.
After finishing the European season, the Krim family has already turned its thoughts to the new one, when a strong team will once again be the key to achieving its ambitious goals. The club will strengthen its ranks with five new handball players, including Itana Grbić, Nina Zulić, Maja Vojnovič, Tamara Mavsar and Tatjana Brnović, while the management has extended contracts with six more players.
In the second leg of the play-off of the EHF Champions League, the women of Krim Mercator ran out of sporting luck. Rapid Bucuresti reached the European quarter-finals with 30:24.
Unfortunately, the handball players of Krim Mercator failed to solve the Romanian puzzle once again. In the second leg of the EHF Champions League play-off, they lost 29:24 against CS Rapid Bucuresti and thus ended their European journey. The total score of the two games was 53:54.
The first match of the EHF Champions League play-off against Rapid from Bucharest was also watched by the President of the Republic of Slovenia, dr. Nataša Pirc Musar.
With an excellent game in the second half, Krim Mercator took a five-goal advantage (29:24). The second leg of the EHF Champions League play-off will take place in Bucharest on Sunday, March 26, at 4 p.m. Slovenian time.
Krim Mercator’s handball players won the first match of the EHF Champions League Women play-off! With loud support from the stands of Ljubljana’s Stožice, the Tigers brought Romanian CS Rapid Bucuresti to their knees with a final score of 29:24 on Sunday, March 19, and are thus one step closer to the quarterfinals of the most elite handball competition on European soil!
Krim Mercator reached their goal accompanied by many fans! They defeated the leading team of Group A and qualified for the play-offs of the EHF Champions League via fifth place. In March, at least two more European matches await them, the opponents will be the Romanian handball players Rapid Bucuresti.
The handball players of Krim Mercator qualified for the play-offs of the EHF Champions League! With an important victory (28:26) over the great CSM Bucuresti, the Tigers managed to win a ticket among the top 12 teams in Europe for the second season in a row! Jovanka Radičević and Tjaša Stanko were in the best mood in the blue jersey at Sunday’s match, with seven goals each.
