Krim Mercator handball players opened their 28th consecutive season in the most elite handball club competition. The excellent play in the first half of the match against CSM Bucuresti was followed by a slightly worse continuation, which was ultimately not enough for the first two points of the season (28:30). The newcomers in the blue jersey, Jovanka Radičević and Daria Dmitrieva, showed their quality, and together they scored more than half of the Ljubljana team’s goals.

Krim Mercator opponents in the Champions League for the 2022/23 season are known. With performances in their 28th consecutive season among the European elite, which is the most among all women’s and men’s clubs, the women from Ljubljana will start in Group A. Krim Mercator’s handball players hosted Vipers Kristiansand in Ljubljana’s Stožice in the most important European match of the season, the first quarter-final match of the EHF Champions League. The Norwegians were still too hard for the Tigers in the seventh match, but not everything has been decided yet. The match in Kristiansand will decide on the promotion to the tournament of the best four of the Old Continent, where the Ljubljana team will try to make up for the seven goals behind.

Despite the defeat on the away match at the Erd Arena in Hungary, the Krim Mercator handball players defended their seven-goal advantage from the first match of EHF Champions League Woman play-off and ranked among the eight best handball teams in Europe. The away match ended with a result of 26:22 (8:10). The most cheerful players of opposite team were Ana Gros and Paula Posavec with four goals, three added by Nataša Ljepoja, Katarina Krpež-Šlezak and Andrea Lekić.

The Krim Mercator handball players won the first match of the play-off of EHF Champions League final with distinction. On the floor of the Hall Tivoli, the Hungarian FTC beat 33:26 (15:14) and have a nice advantage over the return match in Budapest. The most cheerful was Ana Gros, who shook the net 13 times, and Jovana Risović showed her best European performance this season in a blue jersey with 17 defenses.
