The fighting performance against the Norwegians was not enough

In the second round of the EHF Champions League, Krim Mercator's handball players had to concede superiority to the Norwegian Vipers. Despite the help of the home fans (especially) in the second part of the meeting, they could not follow the rhythm dictated by their rivals. In the end, the current European champions were better by six goals, the scoreboard showed 21:27 after 60 minutes of the match. Daria Dmitrieva proved herself again in the blue jersey, this time with eight goals.

Dragan Adžić, coach of RK Krim Mercator: “The team of Vipers Kristiansand showed that it is of better quality. However, I am satisfied that we managed to stop them and compete with them in parts of the game. We still need to fix and upgrade many things.”

Barbara Lazović, captain of RK Krim Mercator: “At the opening of the EHF Champions League, we met two challenging teams. We started well against Vipers, we fought in the first half, but attack and defense were key in the second half. Especially in attack, we didn’t find the right opportunities to shoot at the goal.”

Aleksandra Rosiak, RK Krim Mercator handball player: “This was our first home match, which we couldn’t wait for. I am happy for the opportunity to play (for the first time) in the EHF Champions League. In the rest of the season, we will have to work hard and keep fighting.”
