Krim Mercator achieved a European record in the number of goals scored in the Czech Republic and achieved its first victory in the 2022/23 season.
In the most successful match in the history of the Ljubljana club, Krim Mercator’s handball players achieved a convincing victory over the DHK Banik Most team. The Czechs won with a final score of 42:29 and thus got the first pair of points in the 28th consecutive season among the European elite. This time an excellent team performance should be highlighted. As many as 12 tigresses scored at least one goal.
Before the handball players of Krim Mercator is the third European test this season. This time they are going to the Czech Republic, where they will face the DHK Banik Most team on Saturday, September 24, at 4:00 p.m. The match will be broadcast live on Arena Sport 1.
In the second round of the EHF Champions League in Ljubljana, Krim Mercator hosted the current European champions, the handball players of the Norwegian Vipers. The guests won with a score of 27:21.
In the second round of the EHF Champions League, Krim Mercator’s handball players had to concede superiority to the Norwegian Vipers. Despite the help of the home fans (especially) in the second part of the meeting, they could not follow the rhythm dictated by their rivals. In the end, the current European champions were better by six goals, the scoreboard showed 21:27 after 60 minutes of the match. Daria Dmitrieva proved herself again in the blue jersey, this time with eight goals.
Krim Mercator handball players opened their 28th consecutive season in the most elite handball club competition. The excellent play in the first half of the match against CSM Bucuresti was followed by a slightly worse continuation, which was ultimately not enough for the first two points of the season (28:30). The newcomers in the blue jersey, Jovanka Radičević and Daria Dmitrieva, showed their quality, and together they scored more than half of the Ljubljana team’s goals.
Krim Mercator opponents in the Champions League for the 2022/23 season are known. With performances in their 28th consecutive season among the European elite, which is the most among all women’s and men’s clubs, the women from Ljubljana will start in Group A. The first matches will be scheduled on September 10 and 11.
Krim Mercator also had to concede victory to the European champions, the Norwegian Vipers (33:24), in the return match of the quarterfinals of the EHF Champions League.
The Krim Mercator handball players did not manage to make a turnaround in the quarter-final match of the EHF Champions League in Kristiansand, Norway, so the Vipers handball players are traveling to the final tournament in Budapest. The last European match in the 2021/22 season for the Ljubljana representatives ended with a result of 33:24 (17:12) in favor of the hosts. Only Ana Gros was in the mood with eight goals, Katarina Krpež-Šlezak added five.
