Krim Mercator opponents in the Champions League for the 2022/23 season are known. With performances in their 28th consecutive season among the European elite, which is the most among all women’s and men’s clubs, the women from Ljubljana will start in Group A. The first matches will be scheduled on September 10 and 11.

The RK Krim Mercator team is getting stronger before the start of the 2022/23 competition season! Daria Dmitrieva, who wore CSKA’s jersey for the past two years, is coming from Moscow on a one-year loan to the Slovenian capital city. The 26 year old Russian representative achieved the greatest success of her career at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, when she won a gold medal with her chosen row, and she was also selected for the best team of the competition as a middle outside player.

Krim Mercator also had to concede victory to the European champions, the Norwegian Vipers (33:24), in the return match of the quarterfinals of the EHF Champions League.

Krim Mercator’s handball players said goodbye to the 2021/22 handball season with a victory and thus maintained a perfect win in the last match against Mlinotest Ajdovščina. At the end of the season, for the 27th time, Tigrice won the national champions’ trophy, which was presented to captain Nina Žabjek by the general secretary of the RZS, Goran Cvijić.

The Krim Mercator handball players did not manage to make a turnaround in the quarter-final match of the EHF Champions League in Kristiansand, Norway, so the Vipers handball players are traveling to the final tournament in Budapest. The last European match in the 2021/22 season for the Ljubljana representatives ended with a result of 33:24 (17:12) in favor of the hosts. Only Ana Gros was in the mood with eight goals, Katarina Krpež-Šlezak added five.

Krim Mercator’s handball players hosted Vipers Kristiansand in Ljubljana’s Stožice in the most important European match of the season, the first quarter-final match of the EHF Champions League. The Norwegians were still too hard for the Tigers in the seventh match, but not everything has been decided yet. The match in Kristiansand will decide on the promotion to the tournament of the best four of the Old Continent, where the Ljubljana team will try to make up for the seven goals behind.

Krim Mercator’s handball players kept the advantage from the first play-off match against the FTC and won a place among the eight best teams in the Old Continent! In the quarterfinals, they will face the current European champions, the Norwegian Vipers.

Despite the defeat on the away match at the Erd Arena in Hungary, the Krim Mercator handball players defended their seven-goal advantage from the first match of EHF Champions League Woman play-off and ranked among the eight best handball teams in Europe. The away match ended with a result of 26:22 (8:10). The most cheerful players of opposite team were Ana Gros and Paula Posavec with four goals, three added by Nataša Ljepoja, Katarina Krpež-Šlezak and Andrea Lekić.

Until the end of the season, Krim Mercator’s team will be strengthened by the best Slovenian player Ana Gros, also the captain of our national team. Krim recognized her exceptional talent and launched her into handball Europe more than a decade ago. After prematurely terminating her cooperation with CSKA Moscow in early March due to the tragic situation related to the war in Ukraine, she will now move to Ljubljana. Thus, after a dozen years, she will once again wear the jersey of the only Slovenian club that is currently participating in the elite European club competition.

After the successful conclusion against the Swedish Sävehof, the handball players of Krim Mercator have already started to look towards March 26, when the first play-off match Delo EHF Champions League will be on the schedule.

Krim Mercator handball players have secured promotion to the round of 16 in Delo EHF Champions League! In the last match of the group stage of this competition in Stožice, they defeated direct competitors in the fight for sixth place in Group B. They were better than the Sävehof team after half of the match (12:9), but they also outplayed them in the second half rejoiced in the victory with 32:18. Tjaša Stanko contributed the most to the victory, scoring eight times, and Barbara Elisabeth Arenhart, who was in the mood with 14 defenses, also played an important role.
