The group stage draw for the EHF Champions League Women 2025/26 took place today at the headquarters of the European Handball Federation (EHF) in Vienna. Krim Mercator was drawn into Group B.
Krim Mercator continues building its roster for the 2025/26 season. Following the arrival of three Slovenian national team players, the club now welcomes its first international signing – Danish line player Sofie Bardrum, who joins from Nykøbing Falster Handbold.
Krim Mercator is entering a new era with the appointment of Ĺ˝iga Novak as head coach for the next three seasons. The 33-year-old Slovenian coach brings energy, a modern approach, understanding of the club’s philosophy, and strong credentials – including the EHF Master Coach title.
RK Krim Mercator secured a win in the second leg of the EHF Champions League Play-Off against HB Ludwigsburg. The final score was 26:23, but unfortunately for the home fans, it wasn’t enough to overturn the deficit and advance in Europe’s elite club competition. With Sunday’s victory in the Match of the Week, as chosen by the European Handball Federation, Krim’s European season has come to an end.
RK Krim Mercator suffered a defeat in the first leg of the EHF Champions League Play-Offs on the road in Germany. After an evenly matched start, the home team gradually took control, especially in the second half, where they significantly extended their lead. Despite the final score (31:21), all is not lost – exactly one week from now, the return leg will take place at Hala Tivoli, where the Tigresses will fight for a comeback with the roaring support from the stands.
The Krim players secured a victory in the final round of this season’s EHF Champions League group stage, defeating Podravka Vegeta 30:29. This hard-fought win not only brought them two points but also secured a fourth-place finish in Group A, granting them a slight advantage in the Play-Offs of Europe’s most elite club competition, set to take place in a month!
The new point is in the bag, but both were within reach. After the first half of the game against Danish Nykøbing, it even seemed like a dominant win was on the cards, but in the second half, the Krim Mercator players had to work hard. Until the very last second of the game, it seemed like they would succeed. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out. The hosts scored at the sound of the final buzzer to make it 30:30, and the points were shared in Round 13 of the EHF Champions League.
