The first half was simply not going well for Krim Mercator. The Romanian Rapid players quickly took a 5:0 lead. Captain Barbara Lazović was the first to hit the net. Only in the eighth minute. In the next five minutes, she scored once more, as did Tjaša Stanko, and Jovanka Radičević added two goals.
The visiting bench closed the gap to just two goals, but later on Valentina Klemenčič was sent off, lost the ball in attack and the deficit quickly grew to six goals.
That’s when Dragan Adžić, the head coach of the #KrimovaDruzina, reacted: with a minute break and a change in goal. Maja Vojnovič came on for Barbara Arenhart. Did it help? It did! The Tigresses were only two goals behind at half-time (15:13).
But after returning to the floor, it didn’t work out again. Adžić’s squad was not able to develop the game it has been playing this season. The Romanians were leading by a comfortable margin, while the Ljubljana players kept chasing the deficit. And unfortunately, they couldn’t catch it. The hosts were better with 27:22.
Radičević was the most cheerful player in the Krim family with eight goals, while Stanko added five more.
The Tigresses will play their next European match in just over 14 days. On Sunday, 12 November, at 16:00, they will host French side Metz at their home Arena Stožice.

Dragan Adžić, head coach of Krim Mercator: »Romania always has a great crowd and that was the case today. I have nothing to criticize my team for when it comes to the game. The players did the best they could at the moment. I hope that their maximum will be even higher in the next games.«
Maja Vojnovič, goalkeeper of Krim Mercator: »It’s always challenging to play here. The crowd gave energy to the hosts and they made the most of it. We started badly, but we didn’t give up. We kept the score for a while, which still allowed us to win. But it didn’t work. We have to prepare better for the next games.«
