The two leading names of the opening minutes of the European Handball Federation’s match of the week (MOTW) were Nina Zulić and Barbara Arenhart. ”Zula” broke the ice in Tivoli Hall, while ”Babi” shone even brighter under the European spotlight. Two goals and some very important defences by the 15th minute.
When their other teammates warmed up with the help of the loud fans, the advantage grew. The maximum was seven goals, and Dragan Adžić‘s team went into the break a goal down (15:9).
The second half was reminiscent of last season, when the handball players in blue jerseys could not break the spell of the second half. The Norwegians quickly closed the gap to three goals and even led by three goals in the dying minutes.
On 12 November (4 pm), the Tigers will host Metz at Arena Stožice. The team will need a loud cheer, so get your tickets HERE!
But the loud support of the fans helped the Tigersses. In the end, they “pulled it out” and took a well-deserved point. After nine consecutive defeats against the impressive Vipers Kristiansand, Krim recorded a draw this time.
Jovanka Radičević was the top scorer of the Ljubljana team, which was without Daria Dmitrieva due to injury this time, with six goals, while Tamara Mavsar hit the net four times. Barbara Arenhart defended 15 shots in goal.
Next Saturday, 28 October, at 16:00, the Tigresses will be away in Romania at CS Rapid Bucuresti. They return home next month. On Sunday, 12 November, the Tigers will host French side Metz at Arena Stožice. The Tigresses will need a loud cheer, so get your tickets HERE!

Dragan Adžić, head coach of Krim Mercator: »Congratulations to the players for a great fight. I am proud of us, because after a long streak without a win against the Norwegians, this time we managed to get a draw. We got a point at home, which is very important in the EHF Champions League group stage. All the players gave their best! Thank you also to all the fans for the great support.«
Tamara Mavsar, player of Krim Mercator: »We saw why Vipers handball players are three times consecutive European champions. Our first half was outstanding, but in the second half we allowed ourselves a little drop in the game. It was the same against Ikast. Anyway … I am proud of us for getting a point. I am proud of the game we are playing and I can’t wait for the competition to continue.«
