It was an exciting game in Arena Stožice. The first half was nearly even, with Krim taking the lead for the first time through Tjaša Stanko at 4:3. The balanced play continued, and in the 26th minute, Ana Abina, who shone brightly in Saturday’s game, gave her team a two-goal lead.
Unfortunately, that advantage didn’t last long. Before the end of the first half, the guests from Romania scored once more, and the teams went into the break with a 12:13 scoreline.
The Tigers took the lead again in the 40th minute, thanks to a goal from Tamara Horaček, who fired up the arena, which was draped in blue for the family day event. The highlight came when Horaček scored again on the next attack to give her team a +2 lead. Maja Vojnovič was outstanding between the posts, while the players in blue took turns scoring goals in attack. From that point on, the home team held onto their lead.

In February, Krim’s family will face two more challenges. The first is next weekend – Saturday, February 15th, at 16:00 against Nykøbing in Denmark.
The final group-stage match of the EHF Champions League will be held at the home Arena Stožice – on Saturday, February 22nd, at 18:00 against Podravka Vegeta. Tickets are available HERE.
Ambrosio Martin, head coach of Krim Mercator Ljubljana: »I’m very happy with my first win here. For the club! It was really tough. Both teams were evenly matched, but we had to win. We were only focused on the two points, not worrying about anything else. We finally succeeded. Now, we’ll be a bit more relaxed, which means we’ll progress even faster.«
Tjaša Stanko, player of Krim Mercator Ljubljana: »It wasn’t easy. I think today’s game showed that we had consistency. We wanted it, we desired it. Maybe we made a few mistakes in attack, but we fixed them with our defense. The atmosphere was amazing, and the fans really helped us. I hope they’ll join us again in two weeks in Stožice.«
