A game whose first half the team of Krim Mercator would like to forget. The guests took an early 4:1 lead, but the Tigresses equalised after goals from Barbara Lazović, Aleksandra Rosiak and Jovanka Radičević. Then it happened. A 6:0 partial score for the handball players in white jerseys, who managed to escape the home team from a safe distance. Adžić‘s squad chased down the deficit, and in the 20th minute came even closer to a three-goal deficit, but by the end of the first half the gap grew again. The scoreboard read 12:18 after 30 minutes of play.
Unfortunately, the second half did not see a turnaround. With the loud support of the home fans, the Tigresses fought like lions until the last second of the game, when the score was 24:30.
Next Sunday, 24 March, at 16:00, Krim Mercator will be six goals behind in the return leg in Bucharest, Romania. Not an impossible task for the ever-fighting team!
Daria Dmitrieva scored the most goals for the Blues on Saturday (7), while Jovanka Radičević scored 6.
Dragan Adžić, head coach of RK Krim Mercator: »First of all, I would like to thank the fans for the great atmosphere. I believe we will give them back in the second game what they deserve today. We never give up and so everything is still open before the return leg. We can definitely give even more than we showed this time.«
Barbara Lazović, captain of RK Krim Mercator: »We opened the game very badly and that made the continuation much more difficult. We were always chasing the deficit. We didn’t show our strength and real energy. We still have time and I believe in us.«
