Failing the remedial test against Metz

Unfortunately, the Krim Mercator was not able to say goodbye to the calendar year 2023 with a victory. With a reduced squad, they had to concede once again to a strong Metz side. Despite another outstanding performance by Radičević (ten goals). The final score was 40:31.

Krima Mercator’s players travelled to the last European game of 2023 with a weakened squad. Tamara Mavsar stayed at home due to poor health, Daria Dmitrieva is still injured and Nina Zulić is missing. And maybe the absence of these three players was the reason for the heavy defeat against Emmanuel Mayonnade’s team.

Everything went smoothly for the French. They were already up by double digits in the 27th minute, but the Tigers were unable to reduce the deficit to less than five goals. Despite their fight, perseverance and determined performance, the Ljubljana players did not succeed. Unfortunately, the make-up exam was unsuccessful. The hosts triumphed with a final score of 40:31.

Jovanka Radičević scored 10 goals in the Match of the Week, while Tjaša Stanko added six.

Now the Krim Mercator squad will have a longer national team break. Perhaps just in time. New opportunities to prove themselves will be available in the lead-up to 2024, when the elite EHF Champions League returns to Ljubljana. Tickets will go on sale soon on mojekarte.si..

Dragan Adžić, head coach of Krim Mercator: »After today’s game it’s hard to find the words. But I believe that in 2024 we will show a performance with much more energy. I also hope that the health of the players will be on our side.«

Jovanka Radičević, player of Krim Mercator: »First of all, I would like to congratulate Metz, who have shown that they are the better team at the moment. I am sad and disappointed. But if it had to happen, it is better that it is at the end of 2023. When we come back, we will be even stronger. We believe that no one will be able to stop us again.«
