An outstanding first half, not enough for new European points

Krim Mercator's handball players returned to the floor of the European EHF Champions League, but unfortunately unsuccessfully. At the new handball spectacle hosted by Ljubljana, the Danish team Odense Håndbold had to admit superiority (23:29)! In the historic match, in which the outstanding Jovanka Radičević became the top scorer of the most elite European club competition, in addition to Montenegro, Tjaša Stanko and Barbara Lazović also scored four goals, while Barbara Arenhart made 16 saves.

Dragan Adžić, coach of RK Krim Mercator: “Congratulations to the visiting team for an excellent second half. Unfortunately, we could not keep up the rhythm from the first half, we had no answer to the 5:1 defense. We expected a demanding match, and I take responsibility for the outcome. Next week we have a return meeting, where I believe we will show a better performance.”

Nina Žabjek, RK Krim Mercator handball player: “Congratulations to the Odense Håndbold team. After a match like this, it’s hard for me to gather my thoughts. The first half was for the textbooks, but in the second a completely different team came to the floor. We lost our rhythm in attack, gave away too many balls to our opponents, which the Danes punished with quick counter-attacks.”
