Krim Mercator failed to break the spell of the second half

In the fifth round of the EHF Champions League, the handball players of Krim Mercator visited the Bietigheim team, which is still undefeated this season. Even the tigresses, for whom a few dark minutes in the second part of the meeting were fatal, had to admit their superiority. The best scorer of the Ljubljana team this time was Daria Dmitrieva with six goals, and with eight saves, Barbara Arenhart also caused some headaches for the Germans in goal.

Dragan Adžić, coach of RK Krim Mercator: “We prepared well for the match. We knew how the opponents play and where we can take advantage of our opportunities. Handball players did a good job of this in the first half. In the second part, the German women played differently, and our response was not as we would have liked. I’m sorry that the team is wasting its energy by reacting to some of the referee’s decisions. We shouldn’t worry about it, but we have to focus on ourselves and our mistakes, which were huge this time.”

Nina Žabjek, RK Krim Mercator handball player: “We played the first half at a very high level. We defended well and reacted to everything we prepared for during the week. Unfortunately, I don’t know what happened again in the second part of the match. We will have to correct this, because after such a drop in the game it is difficult to get back up, and it is even more difficult to catch up later.”
